Women Achievers awarded by Young Environmentalists NGO.
 Women can be change makers and show the way not only in the field of environment but also in various other social areas, only by networking and uplifting one another can we uplift society.
 
Actress Raveena Tandon, Artist for a cause Rouble Nagi, Achla Sachdev, International eco adventure presenter Kamal Sidhu, Alecsia Raut, Jessy Randhawa,singer Shibani Kashyap, Ms.Earth UK Bhavya Gowda, International fashion designer Falguni Peacock, Musician Merlyn Dsouza, Celebrity chef Amrita Raichand and Niranjan Hiranandani inaugurated Women achievers awards by Young Environmentalists NGO March 7th 2015.
Madhurima Nigan, wife of Sonu Nigam was awarded for her social work, specially for uplifting a 75 years old grandmother Purnima Goswami from a remote village in West Bengal, whose daughter was brutally killed by a man some years ago here in Vashi Mumbai, just because she shunned his advances. Purnima now takes care of her grand daughter Ahana who has cerebral palsy and says in her message, “Women must continue to be strong and network to support each other.I believe we can pass on this legacy by sharing our stories and inspiring other women.”
So true, ofcourse womens day happens every day.Every woman all over the world multi tasks and works towards a better future but it is the celebration of bravery and achievement of others that can also support and motivate us.
Many more women like her were awarded for their strength and vision.
Raveena Tandon was awarded for dedicating her time to fights for animal rights and the Lokhandwala mangroves but a celebrity who still finds the time for home, work and family,similarly Nayreen Daruwalla was awarded for her work in Dharaveer, Archana Gullapalli who is a female spring board Diver training men how to survive underwater, Sr. Christabelle Fonseca of Mother Teresa’s Roses Bandra center, Hospitality Expert Pearl Dias training ecotel staff and young underprivileged hospitality students by including them into main stream work, Hanneli Slabber who brings South Africa to India for you, Social worker Geeta Madhavan, Simmi Bhasin who founded Women Who Win encouraging housewives and dormant women to rise with structure into becoming businesswomen, Dr.Monica Bhatia who is renowned for her excellence in health care among others.
At a banquet hall packed to capacity,said Raveena Tandon, “I congratulate the Young Environmentalists trust for encouraging women to be change makers. We women can help sustain life on earth. I personally fight for childs rights and the Lokahndwala mangroves.It is important to take care of our environment.’
. “We are proud of the gathering today here in Powai organized by Young Environmentalists Trust.Women networking and uplifting each other.We in Powai have always encouraged greenery and water recycling as well as vermicomposting, today we have a world class residential complex here in Powai.We congratulate all the awardees here today.”Said Niranjan Hiranandani at the function.
Every year for the last ten years Young Environmentalists honours women, accumulates them from all over the world to share stories of women who have worked by the sweat of their brow, overcome poverty and challenges to arise out of the dust of the earth to emerge as achievers, together with many socially known celebrities who have dedicated their status and name to social responsibility which has made proactive community changes, and are the ‘change’ that people want to see in this world.
