EARTH HOUR MUMBAI FESTIVAL by Young Environmentalists NGO

Earth Hour , not only calls out to people to switch off lights for one hour every year, but also encourages citizens across the country to explore and adopt a cleaner and more sustainable lifestyle by embracing renewable energy solutions, the Earth Hour 2015 campaign calls for Individuals to adopt household products powered by renewable energy;Corporates to adopt renewable energy solutions to run their business operations and production processes and Governments to promote policies favourable to the production and uptake of renewable energy.



In Mumbai the Young Environmentalists Programme trust leads in conserving energy and spreading awareness about EARTH HOUR.This project is one of their biggest campaigns.Other environmental campaigns are eco Ganeshas, Powai lake, Cloth Bag revolution,Eco Festival, Tree plantations, garbage segregation, ALM of Powai, Environmental education and Climate change prsentations among citizens.Please do get in touch for corporate social responsibility work as well as campaigns.  


In India, the campaign spans more than 150 cities, providing a platform to create awareness on renewable energy amongst individuals, corporate entities and decision- makers, while influencing behavior, opinions and policy to help mitigate the effects of climate change.


"The campaign was a great success on the 28thof March for the Earth Hour festival which was held at Meluha the Fern ecotel Hiranandani Gardens Powai Mumbai.I am proud that hundreds of people came to donate some time towards promoting the Young Environmentalists NGO and renewabale energy. Lakhs of citizens switched off their lights to show solidarity. We must celebrate EARTH HOUR daily.Recycle, reuse and refresh ,conserve water and other sources too which can save our planet earth.Earlier in the month we had Arjun Kapoor also launch the EARTH HOUR campaign by being the ambassador.Renewable energy is the need of the hour now,we must use the Gods gift of sunlight which is a free source of energy,Governemtn must relax taxes and promote renewable energy in India, althoguh we are not the world biggest polluters at all. ", vocied Elsie Gabriel Mentor at Climate Reality Project and founder of Young Environmentalists Programme trust who has been taking the lead in Mumbai to spread the Earth Hour campaign. 'Actor Umesh Pherwani and Actress Hrishitta Bhatt also came to support the Young Environmentalists NGO in their mission, added Gabriel.
Earth Hour is a global initiative and the largest environmental campaign in history where citizens around the world show their support for action on climate change by turning off non-essential lights for one hour, between 8:30pm-9:30pm.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Prime Minister’s residence, residences of Chief Ministers,MCGM, India Gate and government buildings in every participating city have turned off lights at the same time.
